Cabinet Features
CABINET CONSTRUCTION
Here at Sky River Industries we manufacture a modular hybrid cabinet meant to mimic European cabinetry and install like a face frame cabinet. Our box sides references from the inside out allowing box sides to be flush with the inside of the frame. This gives us the ability to use European style hardware. Our cabinet frame stiles are 7/8″ with doors overlaying 3/4″ leaving a tight 1/8″ reveal. We also offer a fully customizable inset line.

CABINET BOX CONSTRUCTION
Cabinet boxes are built with 5/8″ domestic maple plywood. Boxes are dadoed, glued and nailed. Cabinets with glass doors or no doors are built with material matching selected species and finished to match.
Top of base cabinets are open with full width stretcher braces front and back. Our cabinets are built ready to accept standard slab counter tops without additional support.

DRAWER BOX CONSTRUCTION
Drawer boxes are constructed with 5/8″ solid hardwood. Drawer boxes are built with dovetail joints and 1/2″ maple plywood bottoms to increase durability. This drawer box construction exists for all cabinetry regardless of cabinet material and finish selection.

SHELVING
Our shelving is 3/4″ thick and will match the selected box construction material. Shelving is adjustable thorough out the majority of the cabinet and comes with clear locking shelf clips.
Cabinets with finished interiors have non locking metal supports for a finished look. Shelving for finished interiors is 3/4″ plywood, edge banded on one side, built with material matching selected species and finished to match.

HARDWARE
We use Blum hardware in our cabinetry due to their high quality products paired with their lifetime warranty. Our typical hinge is a European style clip on hinge with integrated soft close and 9 way adjustment; top to bottom, left to right, front to back. Hinges are easily adjusted with a basic phillips screwdriver.
Drawer guides are Blum Movento, which means full extension with soft close built in. While we offer custom size cabinets, drawer guide depths are restricted to 3″ increments starting at 9″ going to 30″. Please note, cabinet must be 1 1/2″ deeper than the guide. Drawer guides have 9 way adjustment; top to bottom, left to right and tilt.
FINISHING
Here at Skyriver we utilize commercial grade finishing products provided by Sherwin Williams. We offer variety of different finishes; spray stain, wipe stain and paint. We have a fully enclosed spray booth with filtered air where our experienced finishers put the final touches on our cabinetry.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Joint lines on painted cabinetry
Wood is in a constant state of expansion and contraction. This normal movement may cause some hairline cracks at the joints in the finish surface on cabinet doors and face frames. This is a natural occurrence and does not weaken or diminish the strength of the joints.

Ageing Wood
Certain wood, such as cherry, will continue to change over time. This brings warmth to lightly-stained cherry and increases depth below darker stains.
